France is a country well known for its cuisine. In France, food is a focal point of the culture and well-being of the French and is the heart of a practical network of knowledge that reaches from the producer to the chef, from the pitchfork to the fork. "À table" allows learners of French to discover this culture of eating well and at the same time practise their spoken and written skills as well as grammar and vocabulary. All 9 chapters follow the same format - "Découvrir, Le portrait, La recette, Le produit, Comment dire" making learning entertaining and enriching, with pictures, inserts, quotations, idioms and specific language points included throughout. Each double page is a unit in itself and transcripts and an answer key are included at the end of the book. Au fil des neuf chapitres thématiques, des rubriques récurrentes (Découvrir, Le portrait, La recette, Le produit, Comment dire) rendent l'apprentissage divertissant et enrichissant, ponctuées d'images, d'encarts, de citations, d'expressions idiomatiques, de points de langue, etc. Chaque double page est une unité de sens, s'adaptant aussi bien à un enseignement/apprentissage selon un volume horaire (ateliers de cuisine, par exemple), qu'à une acquisition par niveau ou en autonomie. Les corrigés et les transcriptions sont disponibles à la fin de l'ouvrage. Un site compagnon en ligne, réunissant tous les sonores ainsi que de nombreux compléments, vient à l'appui de l'apprenant.
