The Story Garden
The Story Garden
The Story Garden is a primary course of British English based on storytelling and The Heart and Mind Approach, or emotional education, which creates synergy between pupil's cognitive and emotional development. The course approaches language as an essential system of signs and sounds which is required to communicate emotions, needs and information.
The engaging course for 6-11 year olds consists of six levels (covering CEFR levels PreA1-A2) and offers 3 to 5 teaching hours per week. It offers blended learning, combining digital and paper resources suitable for traditional and IWB use of the book. Interdisciplinary activities (CLIL) offer lessons about health education, global citizenship, coping with emotions and needs; while "Mr Green's messages" provide a value pathway in which pupils are given advice on how to be happier with themselves and live happily with other people. Well-known stories and fairytales, songs, games and multi-sensory activities including crafts make learning fun, simple, and effective.
The course is attentive to mixed ability groups in terms of its design and content, with Easy English sections offering an inclusive learning pathway and an accessible digital version with readable fonts for SLD and SEN pupils.
Each volume comes with access to the Digital Book: a fully interactive version of the student's book complete with integrated audio, videos and additional interactive and downloadable resources.
