Russian for Pre-school Children: Recommendation for a Bilingual Kindergarten.

The present manual includes general information about children's bilingualism, description of programmes and methods of work in a bilingual kindergarten. The programmes are focused on three age groups: 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 years old (for 40 educational weeks each). The weekly programmes include phonetic gymnastics, verses and songs, variuos games to develop children's language skills and outdoor games.

The method of work, presented in this book, has been practised for over 15 years and approved by the bilingual Finnish-Russian kindergarten "Kalinka" in Helsinki as well as by nurseries and preschool centres both in Russia and abroad. The described methodology also addresses the experience of bilingual preschool establishments in Great Britain, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.

The book is aimed at teachers and tutors of bilingual preschool establisments, and also at parents of bilingual children.
