Russia in the mirror of modern prose

Russia in the mirror of modern prose

Russia in the mirror of modern prose

A superb collection of extracts written by ten outstanding Russian authors from the second half of the 20th Century, including Aitmatov, Bitov, Solzhenitsyn and Popov. With a simple and straightforward layout so students are not overwhelmed with too much information, this textbook is ideal for advance level classes.

There is a short introduction in English, followed by ten units - one for each author. Within every unit there is a biography and notes about that particular author's style (again, both in English). Each text is in Russian, accompanied by a Russian-English glossary and exercises which aim to improve student's grammar and speaking skills, as well as widening their vocabulary.
